Accessibility, UX, and Visual Design for a World-Class Experience

Creating a great end-to-end user experience involves much more than just the user interface. It starts with a shared vision, a deep knowledge of clients and end users, and passion to address both the usability and accessibility opportunities that stand in the way between you and a world class experience.

NCSC/MSAA Alternate Assessment Open-Source Platform

In this breakaway, we will provide you with a high-level overview of the Alternate Assessment open-source platform, created by the now-defunct National Center and State Collaborative (NCSC) consortium. We will review features available in the platform, discuss how the platform can be acquired, and the platform's product roadmap, now owned and managed by the Multi-State Alternate Assessment (MSAA) consortium.

The Ecosystem of Open Source

We'll discuss an overview of open source technologies.  How is open source being used in a variety of industries to accelerate change and allow organizations to do more with less?  We will discuss the open source ecosystem, and what participants are required to maintain a healthy open source community.  We will also discuss how an open source delivery model differs from more traditional delivery models used in the past.

Next, we will discuss several open source platforms currently in production today.  How extensive are these platforms?  What markets do they serve?  What does the software look and feel like?  All of these questions will be answered as well as some interactive conversations on the state of the industry of open source software and online assessment systems.

PARCC - ADS Open-Source Test Delivery Platform

In this breakaway we will provide you with an overview of the ADS open-source test delivery platform, created for PARCC.  We will review the vision, the road we took to get where we are today, a demo of features available in the platform, and the lessons we learned implementing a project of this size and scope.
